A Glimpse of History

The PSU Binmaley Campus, known as the molder of competent fisheries technologists in the north, is committed to its mission of providing quality education and excellent service delivery to its stakeholders. As the campus reaches new heights, achieves more recognition, and opens vital curricular offerings, it boasts its rich history that created the legacy affiliated in its name.

The PSU Binmaley Campus is one the nine (9) component campuses of the Pangasinan State University, which is strategically located in the coastal town of Binmaley, Pangasinan. The Campus sprawled in a 3.8 hectares land in Barangay San Isidro Norte which is 10-km away from Dagupan City and 5-km from Lingayen, the capital town of the province. The PSU Binmaley Campus, since its establishment, went through several stages of development. Originally, it started as the Binmaley School of Fisheries (BSF) by virtue of R.A. 685 in 1966 and later became the Pangasinan College of Fisheries (PCF) in 1969 and finally became Pangasinan State University in 1979 under PD 1497. The collegiate program of the PCF was integrated into the PSU system and likewise, marked the end of direct supervision from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) which focused more on education and production.

The shift of the supervision from the Department of Education to the Commission of Higher Education also expanded the mandate of the University and PSU Binmaley Campus as well. It is committed not only in providing quality education and service to the studentry and community but also in searching and developing new technologies which highly focuses in fisheries and to other fields related to its curricular offerings. With its strong research and extension culture, internationally and nationally acclaimed alumni and professors, the campus has already inculcated its name in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Arena.

Currently, the Binmaley Campus offers four (4) curricular programs; Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science (BSE); Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (BSF); Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (BSES) and Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCrim). The BSF, BSES, and BSCrim are the programs that are unique only to the campus making its distinction from the nearby colleges and universities.
Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, being the flagship course of the campus, is also awarded with the Center of Excellence by the Commision on Higher Education.

Binmaley campus adheres to the university’s mission and vision in providing quality education. Nurturing the culture of excellence has been deeply rooted  among PSUnians in offering services for the satisfaction of its clients and stakeholders.

MESSAGE

It is an honor and distinct privilege for me to greet our enlightened and highly esteemed QS Stars accreditors and to express my thanks and appreciation for their concerted effort to come and evaluate our QS Stars Website.

For and on behalf of the Pangasinan State University Binmaley Campus’ teaching and non-teaching personnel, do accept our warmest welcome.

The accreditation as a process is not just an evaluation per se ranged and based on a given standard but it is also a gauge to determine the relevance of our programs amidst the challenge of the millennial learners in the aftermath of the COVID19 menace.

Thank you for helping us carve our own niche and find our rightful place under the sun.
