Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance- designate Dr. Ruby Rosa Cruz assumes office on July 1 with the entire community of PSU hopeful she would deliver her promise for the continuous and growing improvements in the university. By virtue of the Resolution No. 52 Series of 2019 the creation of VP for PQA was approved on June 17, 2019.
From her assumption of duty, Dr. Cruz has since presided numerous meetings and conferences so to address challenges relative to keeping up with the university’s SG. No. 3 Good Governance. One was the presentation of 2019 and 2020 Campus Operational Plans by all Campus Executive Directors (CEDs), OUS and SAS Executive Directors on July 17. Another was the 2020 Planning Conference from July 18-19 at the Bayleaf Hotel Intramuros, Manila. The university through Dr. Cruz also underwent Academic, Planning and Quality Assurance Updates and Strategic Directions Conference from August 14 to 16, 2019.
The need for another Vice President in addition to the four VPs in the administration arose upon recognizing the growing accountabilities and need to have a dedicated VP for Quality Assurance. Especially in terms of its strong advocacy which is Customer Focus, PSU could not afford negligence in service delivery.
The VP for PQA investigates and sets standards for quality ensuring that the university processes comply and be at par with both national and international standards.
Dr. Cruz as the VP for PQA is enjoined by three directors who are Prof. Elbert M. Galas (Quality Assurance), Dr. Melody De Vera (Planning and Development Office) and Dr. Sally A. Jarin (Local and International Linkages Office).
