Through the concerted efforts of the College of Teacher Education and Technology (CTET) department, the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) students grabbed awards in the Regional Student Congress organized by the CHED and PAFTE Region 1 at DMMSU Bacnotan, La Union last March 9.Ms. Rose Ann Cancino, 4th year BSEd English earned this year’s search for Ms. Innovative Student-Teacher while Ivy Grace Repalda, 3rd year BSE-English, Romelyn Caronongan and Clarissa Lomibao, 4th year BSE-English landed in the 1st runner-up spot in the Quiz Bee competition.
Similarly, the PSU Sta. Maria students triumphed as 2nd runner-up in quiz bee. The names of the students are as follows: Deborah Mae Herreria, Anabelle Lictao, Ralph Izaak Lopez, with their coach, Dr. Leah Olua.
This year’s theme, “Forging an Integrated Approach in the Senior High School Implementation” participated by students involved in the Teacher Education programs of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from private schools, State and Local Universities and Colleges (SUCs and LUCs) in Region 1.
Insightful discussion was shared by the keynote speaker, Dr. Cherrie Melanie Ancheta, Director of CHED RO1 introduced by Dr. Danilo Bose, Education Supervisor of CHED RO1.
Furthermore competent speakers also imparted their knowledge as Paulo Jan Samson, faculty of DMMSU-SLUC talked about the “Meaningful and Mastery learning in the Implementation of the K 12 Curriculum” that focused on teaching and learning for understanding and Dr. Evangeline Baladad, Director of LITE Technical and Educational on the “Tips on Topping and Passing the LET”.
