SWEAT POURS OFF IN BROWS!
This is in preparation to the upcoming Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Survey Visit on August where three programs were set for evaluation.
Even the pandemic situation continues to affect higher education systems, the campus is undeterred with its pursuit to escalate curricular standards following the series of accreditations in the first semester of the year.
The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education are on the edge of their seats in bringing all necessary documents and evidences to achieve higher accreditation: Level 1 for BTVTEd and Level II for BSND and BSSW.
Unlike the usual documentation, a paperless assessment is being prepared to AACCUP Areas such as Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives; Faculty; Curriculum and Instruction; Support to Students; Research; Extension and Community Involvement; Library; Physical Plant and Facilities; Laboratories; and Administration— to be conducted via program website linked to google drive for the digitized document browsing.
Moreover, the programs to be accredited will also mechanize an intervention to include virtual tours, testimonials, and video documentations to give ease with the challenge of virtual accreditation.
For past years, program accreditation is akin to an academic seal of approval which provides the assurance that a program meets the quality standard.
In Lingayen Campus alone, 87% of the programs are already accredited by the AACCUP.
‘Best Quality Practice’
Considered as one of the best practices of the University, a local accreditation was scheduled this July 26 (Monday) to ensure that all programs subjected for AACCUP evaluation will pass and achieve higher accreditation status, after the first local visit last June 15.
The main goal of the final local accreditation is to check necessary documents such as Program Performance Profile (PPP), Compliance Report and other required document from every parameter, making sure that 100% of the indicators in the AACCUP program instruments were already digitized.
Said accreditation instruments which includes System (inputs and processes), Implementation, and Outcomes— are aligned to the definition of outcomes-based quality assurance as measurement from the policy-standard on CHED-initiated Quality Assurance System (CMO 46).
Lingayen Site which was among the five sites in the university identified by the Quality Assurance Office, is facilitated by Dr. Amelita De Vera as Lead Accreditor and Area Chairs (Local Accreditor): Dr. Cristie Marie Dalisay; Prof. Maila Rosario Puzon; Dr. Amelita M. de Vera; Dr. Reynaldo Gelido; Dr. Larry A. Santos; Ms. Winona Joy Perado; Dr. Robert Sison; and Prof. Arcelli Ramos.
After the survey visit, local accreditors discussed their observations and recommendations in different areas to guide local counterparts on necessary documents to be submitted for review on actual accreditation. /mmpd
