Pangasinan State University was officially acclaimed Institutionally Accredited SUC (Level II) by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP, Inc.) on November 14, 2019. The result was coursed through the University President Dr. Dexter R. Buted who relayed this awaited news to Dr. Ruby Rosa Cruz, VP for PQA. Dr. Cruz then announced it to the administrators during the Planning and SUC Levelling Workshop held at Dr. Boquiren Convention Hall, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
With a rating of 3.91, PSU is only .09 away to Level III which is the highest Institutional Accreditation for SUCs. This success depended heavily on the conquered nine IA areas: (a) Governance and Management (b) Teaching, Learning and Evaluation (c) Faculty and Staff (d) Research (e) Extension, Consultancy and Linkages (f) Support to Students (g) Library (h) Infrastructure and Learning Resources, and (i) Quality Assurance Culture.
It can be recalled that the university underwent an intense preparation for many months leading to the five-day IA visit and Evaluation from September 9-13. It was participated mainly by University/Campus officials and IA Champions and Technical Working group who worked day and night accomplishing their respective areas.
More so, President Buted played a major role during the visit as he presented the Institutional Portfolio which constellated all the best practices and improvements of PSU throughout the year.
Truly, the award together with other QA mechanisms intend for the University to possess standards of excellence, that is maintaining quality at high level through a collective effort of its people.
