The Supreme Student Council held its March celebration by conducting a webinar on March 28, 2022, at the Pangasinan State University-Binmaley Campus Library, entitled “3p’s: Prevent FIRE, Protect WOMEN, Progress Your MIND” with the theme “Womental Health Awareness: Be United, Lit the Fire, and Free the Smoke in Your Minds”. 

Students from PSU-Binmaley Campus participated in the half-day webinar, which was organized by the SSC Officers and student leaders from participating clubs. The program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, Pangasinan hymn, and PSU hymn via audio-visual presentation. Moreover, followed by opening remarks by Ms. Telbian Patima Castillo, campus SSC president.

The first speaker, Fire Officer One (FO1), Jenny Concepcion, began her discussion on women’s empowerment in the fire service by defining the true role of women.”Women must be given equal opportunities in all fields, regardless of gender,” she stated. “When a woman makes a critical decision, she feels empowered,” she added.

The program continued with an inspirational message from Dr. Roy C. Ferrer, Campus Executive Director, who expressed his gratitude to the speakers and event organizers. He extended his speech to motivate students at the PSU Binmaley campus. It was then followed by an icebreaker and the execution of the second speaker’s discussion on the harms in the fire service and their effects on firefighters’ physical and mental health.

Furthermore, the second speaker, to be led by Fire Officer One (FO1) Mellisa Tialao, leaves knowledge and admonishments that touch the hearts of PSU Binmaley campus’ students. The last part of the conference was ended by the campus’ SSC Adviser, Ma’am Cheryl De Castro, with her closing remarks .
