Pangasinan is a long-time lucrative place for oyster production. Its coastal waters particularly in Western and Central Pangasinan are sites of oyster production. The oyster industry does not include the production of oysters but turned discarded oyster shells into lime. At present, oyster lime production is flourishing. To make the industry more responsive to the needs of the nation, a research was conducted to document the process of making calcinated oyster shell lime by Dr. Cornelia E. Ibarra and Dr. Dominica J. Sajonas, researchers and faculty of the College of Fisheries and Environmental Sciences.

Herewith is the process flow of making calcinated oyster shell lime in Pangasinan.
